Privacy Policy

ConvoTrack (“we”, “us”) is a group-ride tracking app. This policy covers the ConvoTrack mobile apps for iOS and Android and this website.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, profile photo, and the identity from your sign-in provider (Google or Apple), used to show you to other riders in a ride.
• Location data — your device’s GPS position while a ride is active, so the group can see one another on the live map. Location is shared only with riders in the same ride, and only while that ride is running.
• Ride data — routes you create, invite codes, ride participants, and the stats used to build your end-of-ride report.
• Usage and device data — which screens and features you use, your device model, operating system and app version, and your device’s advertising identifier (on iPhone, only if you allow tracking). Used for analytics and to measure our ads, as described below.

How we use it

• To place every rider on a shared live map during a ride.
• To send regroup and emergency alerts to the group.
• To compute your ride summary — distance, duration, and group split.
• To keep the service secure and working correctly.

Location, specifically

Location tracking is only active while you are in a live ride. When a ride ends, live sharing stops. We do not sell location data, and we do not use it for advertising. Your position during a ride is visible to the other riders you chose to ride with.

Analytics and advertising

We use PostHog for product analytics: which screens and features are used, tied to your account ID, so we can see what works and what breaks.

We use the Meta (Meta Platforms, Inc.) SDK to measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram — whether an ad led to an install, a sign-up, a ride, or a subscription. The app sends Meta your device’s advertising identifier, basic device information, and those events: app installs and opens, first sign-up, creating or joining a ride, and starting a trial or subscription (with its price). Meta may use this to measure and improve the ads it shows. We never send Meta your name, email, location, ride details, or invite codes. Meta’s handling of this data is covered by the Meta Privacy Policy.

Sharing

We share data only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the service (hosting, authentication, push notifications) and the analytics and advertising partners named above. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention

Ride history and summaries are kept so you can review past rides. You can delete your account and everything attached to it at any time — from the Profile tab in the app, or by email if you no longer have it installed. We delete rather than deactivate. Your choices

• Revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
• Leave a ride to stop sharing your position immediately.
• On iPhone, choose “Ask App Not to Track” when prompted, or turn tracking off later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
• Delete your account and all of its data, from the app or by email.
